In April of 2004 the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office implemented the K9 Unit to assist law enforcement with the search and detection of narcotics.
Czar, short for Gonzo’s Drug Barracuda Czar, is a chocolate lab who has been certified with the Camelot Canine Academy and the
Colorado Police K9 Association.
Sergeant Courtland Folks and Czar are on call 24/7, where they provide law enforcement with searches for drugs like methamphetamine, marijuana, cocaine
and
heroin.
